Oban, Mull, and Iona

This week we had our first overnight excursion! It was so fun except for the excessive amount of driving we did.
But before that, on Tuesday, we spent ALL day reading Lewis Grassic Gibbon's Sunset Song.
Thursday morning we drove to Oban, a town on the west coast of Scotland, and rode a ferry to the Isle of Mull. But when I say ferry, I basically mean a cruise ship. It was huge. From there, we drove our mini bus, infamously known as "the rolling ketchup bottle," to Tobermory. It's a super cute, and very small, town at the north end of Mull. There is a red, yellow, and blue building; it is probably the most well-known thing about Tobermory. We went there. No big deal. I stayed at my first hostel and paid 2 pounds for a towel. I have learned my lesson and will be bringing a towel from now on. Anyways, Cat eventually figured out how to close the window, therefore saving us from the cold, cold air flowing in. We still put a comforter in from of the window though. Madi told us some superrr funny stories. Well, it's more like Madi just has some awesome voices that she pulls out every now and then. The hostel was pretty ghetto, but overall a good experience.
The next day, Friday, we drove all over Mull. We took the scenic route down to the ferry over to Iona. The roads were one lane with random places for passing. I don't really know how to describe it besides terrifying. Along the way we stopped at Calgary Bay, AKA the beach! It was rainy and windy, but it was a lot of fun. I got some sweet sea shells. They're kind of pointy instead of round. I'll need to do more research on what that means.

The ferry to Iona was much smaller than our first ferry. Only residents are allowed to have cars on the island and it's a shorter distance, so that might have something to do with it. Anyways, we all get off the ferry and gather back into a group. A few people had gone to the bathroom so we waited for them to come back, but Heather didn't come back... She had fallen asleep in the ferry and didn't get off! So funny. Anyways, we went to a restaurant right by the pier to get some dinner. I ordered Haddock and Chips! It was super good. I wish they had honey mustard though. That is one thing I really miss from the states. I also tried a bit of Cat's fried scampi, and really liked it. My mom would be so proud. For dessert we all tried Sticky Toffee Pudding. So. Good. After dinner, we started the trek to our hostel. It was around a mile away from the dock. A beautiful walk to the southern end of the island. Our hostel there was ADORABLE. It was on the edge of a field with tons of wild flowers and only a short walk away from the beach. You took off your shoes when you walked in and walked around in your socks. The kitchen area was large and rustic with a gorgeous view. The kitchen was a low-tech room, which I thought was really cool, especially if there had been other people staying at the hostel. They were also trying to be environmentally friendly, but it wasn't all in your face. It was actually super cute. Also, this hostel just felt and looked cleaner than the other one. So after I was done adoring everything about this little hostel, I ventured out to the beach, and looked for neat seashells, and ended up finding a crab shell. It was purple on the inside! I was not expecting that. Understandingly, I became attached to my friend. Cat named him Carlos and we took pictures together. When I got tired of carrying him around and shoving him in peoples' faces, I decided to give him a proper burial and started collecting red rocks to place at his grave. I didn't end up burying him because Elena, our professor's daughter, wanted him so I played with the rocks and made some sweet designs AKA spelled my name and "Scotland" with them.

The next morning, we got pancakes! Scottish pancakes and scrambled eggs. I miss eggs. I should buy some. Anyways, the restaurant we ate at had a great view of the coast. That's pretty much all I wanted to say about it. Next, we headed over to Iona Abbey founded by Saint Columba. It was super pretty and actually really interesting. I was pretty excited I found it interesting because I usually don't like to read historical stuff. They had an awesome museum with the first high crosses and beautiful, intricate designs carved into stone. At 2, we caught a ferry back to Mull, drove up to catch the other ferry, and made our way back to Glasgow. I have never wanted a car ride to be over so much in my life.

Sunday: we found a faster way to church and had a DELICIOUS SCOTTISH MEAL at a break-the-fast type thing. Our Sunday School teacher Patsy is a lovely woman and a lovely cook. The dinner was divine and it took some convincing of my stomach (except not really) to find room for dessert. She made like 6 different desserts! Two of them with edible glitter. This lady is legit. One of them was a cookies & cream cake, and I want that as my wedding cake. She said she would make it for all of our weddings if we flew her over to the states. When I'm randomly rich, this will be happening. We wobbled home after that dinner. Our blood suga' went from very low to very high that day.

Today, Monday, some of us went on an optional trip to Abbotsford, where Sir Walter Scott lived. It's basically a castle and has wonderful views of the Tweed. Next we headed into Melrose to see the ruins of an abbey there but it cost money so we all just looked through the fence and had a jolly time. Oh, it was like high 70's today. It felt so hot! I'm in for a rude awakening when I get back to Georgia.... So we got ice cream instead of seeing the abbey. Best choice ever. I got a flavor called vanilla honey comb and it was divine! Next we headed to a memorial for James Hogg. It was cool enough I suppose. We took a picture with it. Them we went and skipped rocks on the lake. My high score was either 1 or 2 jumps. Not so good. I'm just glad I could  get it to skip at all! It was a good time; we got to be out of the bus and I feel like we bonded a bit.

Tomorrow we start our adventure to Aberdeen, Inverness, and lots of other places that I am not aware of yet!

Demon on the Mountain

Thursday: We went to Edinburgh. I felt so... metropolitan? Does that make sense? (My living, breathing dictionary isn't here right now so I'm at a loss for words.) We rode the subway and train like it was no big deal. That is first time (I remember) I've ridden a train for the purpose of getting somewhere.
On the train
We went up to Edinburgh Castle and explored there. In the rain. I didn't know castles were pretty much a little town instead of one or a couple big buildings. Humans have lived at this site since the 9th century BC. Wow. The castle is built on top of a big volcanic rock called Castle Rock. The Honours of Scotland are kept there and we got to see them! There was the Crown of Scotland, a sword, and a sceptre all dating back to the 15 or 16th century. For more information, check out the Wikipedia page. It's pretty interesting. They have super thick doors, a guard in the room, and no photography is allowed in the room.
Awesome view of Edinburgh. Even more awesome when it's not foggy.
My new Scottish boyfriend. Please.
Jenna, Carolyn, Audrey, Me, and Emilia
After exploring the castle we walked down the Royal Mile. Along that road or close by are quite a few cool things: St. Giles Cathedral, lots of tartan and cashmere stores, the Scottish Whiskey Experience, where J.K. Rowling supposedly got the idea for Harry Potter, the Scottish Parliament, and Holyrood Palace where the Queen stays when she comes to Scotland.
I'm pretty sure this is St. Giles' Cathedral. If I go back, I definitely want to go inside.
Our whole group met up at the bottom of the Royal Mile to hike Arthur's Seat. So. Much. Walking. But it was totally worth it. It was a steep hike and I was lucky to have 3 or 4 people who also hate running up mountains and appreciate taking breaks and enjoy looking at the scenery. It was sooo beautiful the whole way up. In a book we read this week, a character hiked to the top and supposedly saw a demon. Or something. So we pulled out the book and Cat dramatically read that passage from the book at the top of Arthur's Seat. It was pretty poetic. Next, we took the steepest route possible down. I dunno why. It was pretty scary because it was windy and the stability of the ground was questionable. I almost sat down and scooted down on my butt. We saw some ruins of St. Anthony's Church on the way down. It was right on the edge of a cliff. That would have been an awesome picture way back in the day. We did some rock climbing to get down. But we pretty much walked around the whole mountain that day. So, understandably, everyone was pretty tired and things got a little frustrating for some people. We kept joking about the demon at the top of Arthur's Seat following us down.
View on the way up Arthur's Seat. This isn't even at the top!
FUNNIEST PICTURE OF MY LIFE.
Like a boss.
St. Anthony's Chapel
Friday: I met up with a friend I knew from Irish Dance like 7 years ago and her boyfriend! How cool is that? I haven't seen her in years but I saw her while in Scotland. It's funny to me. We went to a super yummy Italian place off Buchanan Street called Roma. It was my first experience at a sit-down restaurant. It was interesting to see the difference between Europe and the US. We sat around for an hour after lunch just talking. That's normal here. People usually order wine, coffee, or tea, but obviously I didn't.
Skylar and I
After that Emilia and I wandered around stores on Buchanan Street. They have H&M there. I wanted to buy the whole store. There was also another really cute store with the funniest stuff.  There were backpacks, notebooks, pencil sharpeners, etc with cats or fruits and veggies on them. I also found a "So You Think You're a Hipster" book; it had all the different types of hipsters in it. On the way home, we stopped by a co-op called Iceland and I bought MORE chocolate... When I got home I took ANOTHER nap. I swear I've taken a nap pretty much everyday... Cat and some people in our group were going to go to the laser tag YSA activity but they missed the bus. Hopefully we can do other stuff with the YSA. They were so nice  had awesome accents. We talked in the hallway about going to St. Andrews, and I spotted an attractive boy living on our floor. Turns out Cat and I share a kitchen with him so I made friends with him. I was very proud of myself. He is British so he also has an awesome accent. He knows the word sieve and calls dorms accommodations... So I will definitely be keeping that friendship alive. Oh! I almost forgot! Cat and I found Ben & Jerry's for half off at Tesco. It was 2.24 pounds (about $3.41). Best day ever! While there we saw a guy who was, according to Cat, coming off a meth high. It was funny but really freaky at the same time. He was running around the store saying expletives under his breath. After that excitement, I tried to write my mini essays. I forgot how much I hated writing...

Saturday: Most of my group went to either St. Andrews or Loch Lomond (where Nessie is). I was silly and avoided writing my papers so I decided to take a day off, relax, and finish my papers. I will hopefully be going to a Ceilidh dance tonight! I'm excited for that!

Staring Contest

I rode the Subway here for the first time yesterday. It was pretty normal. It felt like an uncoordinated giant was trying to rock me to sleep. We got off the cute little subway car, walked up some stairs, and came out in the middle of a very crowded Buchanan Street in Glasgow's City Centre. We saw where Queens Street train station was and headed up to Glasgow Cathedral. Man, this building is cool and old. Saint Mungo is buried there and it was built sometime during the 13th to 15th centuries. It is beautiful!

Next we headed up to the Necropolis. Not really sure why... 50,000 individuals have been buried there. There was a lot of really cool headstones and monuments. It has a beautiful view up there and my camera ran out of batteries so it was nice to take some time to just enjoy the view and take it all in.

After that I tried a deep-fried sausage and Iron Bru. My friend, who is on her mission here, told me to try Iron Bru while I was here so I did. Not very good. Next I'm going to try Ginger Beer. After eating we headed home and I read James Hogg's The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner for the rest of the day for class. It is very confusing and interesting at the same time.

Today, Cat and I almost missed class. Neither of our alarms did their job; she may have turned hers off in the middle of the night and mine was silent or very quiet. Not entirely sure what happened there. Anyways, we got ready in 15 minutes and headed off to class where I got into a staring contest with our teacher Matt. Not on purpose. He asked for a volunteer and I figured I might as well look at him and not volunteer then awkwardly avoid looking at him. It didn't actually work. He ended up making me share a passage and my thoughts anyways to finish class. It's cool though. I'm fine sharing my thoughts but I'm too scared to actually raise my hand. And there's like 3 or 4 people that talk a lot and have very deep points. That intimidates me. Anyways, he said it was a very good closing point. SCORE. Ahhhh yeah. Take that smart people! After class, Kerry, Matt's wife, gave us lychee/litchi. They look like berries and taste a bit like grapefruit.
Next we headed over to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum for an organ concert. The organ was huge! The whole museum was huge. I will definitely be heading back there to check it out some more.
This was hanging from the ceiling. My favorite is in the top right.
I explored and then heading back to my dorm and watched some Bachelorette with some gal pals (: Then I passed out and took a nap. Then we walked half and hour to church for institute. Best decision ever. All the young single adults there were SO nice and the guys were so cute. I'm in love. Whatever. They told us some good places to go and told me it's not worth it to go to Prestwick... I'm not completely convinced. On the way home we told our worst date stories. Good times!

Tomorrow we are heading to Edinburgh! Lots of walking...

We're So Scottish

So after a super long and boring trip over here, I have safely arrived and settled into my home for the next 5 weeks. We have a pretty awesome view from our window. It's nothing too special but it sure is pretty, and if you stick your head out you can see a church. And since we are in Scotland, the architecture is beautiful.
Anyways, we sat by a French man on the plane, got interrogated by the customs officer, laughed at a very badly parked car with angry notes on the windshield, went grocery shopping for the essentials, and realized just how jet lagged we were. For more information, check out Cat's super funny blog post about our trip over and our first few hours here.
The view from our window.
Sunday: Well, some background is required for this story first. Cat and I stayed up late watching You, Again because we weren't tired cause it is 5 hours ahead here. So we woke up at 11, with both of us needing to shower and be ready by 11:30 to walk over to church with the rest of our group. We were ready at 11:34 and ran down to the lobby. Nobody was there. Awkward. So Cat pulled up the address of the church on her phone (yay technology) and we asked a funny old guy for directions. Funny little fact: the guy we asked for directions was actually the guy that read the notes from the blueberry car the night before. OKAY, BACK TO THE STORY. So we asked this guy and his wife for directions. He said it was really far and told us we were crazy for wearing "such daft shoes" and not taking the bus. It couldn't be that far, right? Wrong. It took an hour. But we saw lots of Glasgow, witnessed a street race, asked some nice people for directions, and eventually made it to church. They had a YSA Sunday School and us BYU students definitely tripled or quadrupled it's size. The teacher is named Patsy; she's super funny and an excellent baker. So lots of us girls got nasty blisters because we had no idea how dang far it was.
Cat, Carolyn, Emilia, and Rachel on the way home from church.
Sunday night consisted of walking around to see important places, writing lots of missionaries and Cat trying to see the Bavarian Tuba Players. Or something like that. We met a nice man from Singapore and talked to him for a while. Then we stayed up late watching When in Rome. Josh Duhamel. Yum.

Monday: What a day! We had our first class. It was a battle to stay awake. Like 3 of the students talked the whole time, which was totally fine with me. The best part of class was when he gave us 50 pounds each and subway passes. Love that. After class we got some lunch including chips/french fries with salt and vinegar. We're so Scottish. Then we went and explored the Botanic Gardens for a long time. I would not mind going back there at all! So many different different plants from all over the world! Here are a few of my favorite plants and people:

After thoroughly exploring the humid greenhouses we enjoyed the sun and cold wind for a while and then explored the park some more because we didn't want to walk all the way back to our dorms just to walk back over to our professor's flat for FHE. So we wondered on over to the super cute kid's garden. From what we gathered, kids volunteer to help maintain the garden. How cool is that?! After that we took a nap in the park. We probably looked homeless.
Eventually we moved on from the park. We walked down a street to a used bookshop that seriously had thousands of books. Like floor to ceiling books with bookshelves in the middle and piles of books on top and on the floor and just everywhere. To make it even more impressive there was a basement, and possible an upper level, full of books too! We checked out a thrift store where almost everything is 10 pounds. No sweet finds there. We discovered a back way a back way to our professor's flat and were excited that we didn't have to go up a big hill from this direction. BUT we still had two or three hours until FHE. So we wandered in and out of shops (Papyrus was my favorite) for a while and ended up in the library. We settled down with some fun books and... I fell asleep. Two naps in public in one day! I'm not sure whether I should be proud of that or not. I kinda am. Anyways, after our naps, we decided to get a light dinner before heading over to FHE. We tried to go to Gregg's because our professor raved about their sausage pastry but it was closed so we went across the street to check out Iceland-- a cheap co-op store. We ended up getting sweets for the most part. I saw the wagon wheels and knew I had to get them because my family and I had just watched Wild Child and their deliciousness is mentioned in the movie. Emilia found some chocolate cookies that looked good but were called Digestives. Sketch name. She didn't get them. Cat found Happy Hippos, which are DELISH and I will most definitely be taking a bunch home with me if I don't eat them all before I get home... Aero and Flake bars too.
My excellent purchases.
After Iceland, we headed up to FHE. We ended up not taking our alternate route and did have to do up the hill after all. We got there 15 minutes early and decided to sit outside and wait for more of our peers to arrive. I felt like a hobo for at least the 3rd time that day. We were questioning if FHE was cancelled when the rest of our group showed up fashionably late. We climbed to the top and had fun re-introducing ourselves and chatting. I got to know some of the girls better and found out one of them has lived in the same apartment complex as me for a full year! On the way home we tried to take a short cut. Tried being the main word. The gate was locked. But as a result I got to see a fox and take this picture. So worth it.

Glasgow is great and I am never going home! Or I will just have to suddenly become a billionaire and bring my family back over here AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I love it!

Bu-bye ATL. Helloooo Scotland.

To start, I'M TO SCOTLAND TODAY! Well, technically, I'm flying to London tonight and will arrive there tomorrow. It would be best to not ask me about the times because the whole time change thing confuses me andddddd I don't want to think about how much time will be spent on a plane in the next 24 hours. I have never been out of the country besides Canada when I was a baby so this will be my longest experience with planes. At least I'm just going across the pond! Optimism, right?? So our flight leaves at 9:25 PM tonight, so I will hopefully be sleeping for most of it. Hopefully. It doesn't help that I have a nasty cold and/or allergies. Hook me up with some antihistamines! Maybe some NyQuil to chug? I'm game for that.
Anyways, I'm heading over with my best gal pal Cat. We are going to take over Glasgow! And I'll hopefully get to see my friend Caryn who is on a mission in Scotland! And I'm going to go see some castles and where they filmed the train to Hogwarts! I'm just really excited. Whatever.
Be jealous.

More than Mediocre.

I kind of had a break-through today. I have considered myself very ordinary for most of my life. I grew up in the middle of my 6 siblings. I never really stood out as being actually good at much besides organizing, making bracelets, and fashion. And I was fine with that... until I got older and realized that I listed sleeping as my main hobby because I couldn't think of anything else. How lame is that? Anyways, today consisted of an unpredictable chain of thoughts. My venture crew went to a fancy camp out today, and it had lots of activities to try. We shot some sort of guns, threw tomahawks, and launched paint balls at different targets. And I was not good at any of them. Surprise.
So long story short, I realized that I am sub par at a whole butt load of things: swimming, playing piano, singing, reading, writing, talking, all sports, running... just to name a few. Like I said earlier, I had accepted that fact and decided I should write a book about being mediocre.
But then I realized that most people are not just naturally good at most things (meaning my sister Tary is a very odd and frustrating case). You have to work for it! Practice at it. I need to put forth effort to become better. I can't sit here comparing myself to my seemingly perfect sister because that will never do any good. I need to get up and take action! As my friend Dove chocolate just pointed out to me, Happiness is in the heart, not in the circumstances."
I also realized that I have my own random talents. I can't think about many right now.... but one that sticks out to me is that I really care about people. I want what's best for them even if I don't know them. This is just a poorly written example to show that you sometimes have to search for your talents, but I promise you they are there. Lots of them!
So while it is often frustrating to be that girl who obviously forgot to put her game face on again this morning, it leaves lots of room for improvement. No where to go but up! You got air comin' through your nose! That means it's time to do something! Here's a pep talk if you need some motivation:

Winter 2013 Summary

Everybody, the past four months have been amazing. I was so blessed to have awesome roommates and friends. And we had a ton of fun together! Naturally, we had a quote wall. I'm pretty sure it's a requirement for all girl apartments. So this post is dedicated to my friends and the fun memories we have together. Enjoy.

Cat: An old friend wants to see me.
Miya: Maybe she just wants to cut you. Just kidding, whaaaat?

Abby: I want chocolate covered strawberries.
Miya: And I want a husband!

Markie: I'm usually not intimidated by the commonwealth...

Markie: I was in the mountains with a bunch of butch girls who ended up being lesbians.

Markie: Mobo is a mo cap hobo yo.

Cat: Oh. These Milk Duds aren't filled with hate. Love that.

Dr. Gibb: I want you to lean outside and in your best sister missionary voice yell "shut up!"

Dr. Gibb: How did Daisy's leg break? Maybe too many squirrels got on it one day. And what about skinning? All the kids go out and become ax murderers because we didn't teach it right... If you do this wrong i'm going to unfriend you, which is the worst thing on earth.

Abby: The police came to our house this day.

Julie: You're fatter than a bug.

Julie: I'm adding people on Google+. Gotta build my street cred.

Miya: #majorturnoffs if you hold down the power button on your laptop, your laptop will shut down. #justsaying

Dr. Choi: beauuuuuutiful girls and hannnndsome men

Random thing on Twitter: Maybe I'm single because I didn't forward that chain email to 13 of my closest friends five years ago.

Cousin Leslie: Word, G-Man. If she does it again, we're doing the side-straw suck-in.

Miya: I really love fat kids.

Tary: Haters gonna hate. Potatoes gonna po-tate.

Jess: made koolaid today and thought of you. Stay classy.

Abby: MAGGOTS!

Da Jesus Book (John 3:16 in PIDGIN): God wen get so plenny love an aloha fo da peopo inside da world, dat he wen send me, his one an ony Boy, so dat everybody dat trus me no get cut off from God, but get da real kine life dat stay to da max foeva.

Markie: I'm the queen.

Markie: Ruined for life.

Fears of random people: "that i will never get my hogwarts letter" and "#foreveralone"

Emily: Sorry, I just thought it would be a funny joke!
Markie: Well, you're just like Obama- you thought wrong.

Hipster Bowling. Best. Decision. Ever.
3 of the 4 fish we were briefly the proud owners of. They were all dead in less than 2 weeks.
RIP Clementine, Midnight, Lancelot, and Markie Jr.
To start the semester out right, my bestie Sharonda came and visited!

Markie is going to Cape Verde on her mission! So we dressed up as Africaans...

Emily, Me, Theo, and Abby at classic skating (:

We filled Eric's car with newspaper. So worth it. Shortly after this we put creepy Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus statues in there too. So worth it again.
We are thug. No big deal.

To Do: Find Joy in the Journey

So you know how you can have "post it notes" on your computer? Yeah, I have like 10. And I never look at them. I'm more into writing To Do lists on actual paper, and I enjoy the satisfaction of scribbling things out once they're complete.
Anyways, I figured it be good to see if there's anything I actually need on my current notes and decided to share some of what I found when I figuratively dusted off these old notes. Here's some of what I found:

  • Pink note
    • Ask Mom if she did my taxes and sent my birth certificate.
      • This is from... February? I still don't know if she has finished my taxes and I got my birth certificate and consequently have received my passport since.
    • Write strongly-worded letter to company that made nasty medicine-flavored ice cream and only made my ice cream craving stronger. On the bright side, people loved me at dessert night since I shared my ice cream.
    • a tiny To Do list: fix voicemail and get haircut.
      • My voicemail hasn't worked for over a year.
      • I finally got my haircut. I have been meaning to since... January.
  • Yellow note
    • April Fools Day ideas. Sadly, I did not do any. Except for one. My roommate hasn't discovered it so I'm not going to spill the beans yet. Enjoy some of my favorite research results:
      • raisin in toothpaste
      • fake parking tickets
      • sew underwear together
      • popperz under toilet seat
      • methyl blue brownies
      • make a nice card for someone you owe a "thanks" to. Glue it shut so they can't open it.
      • sew a person to their bed
      • turn backpacks inside out
      • write a message of TP and float in the toilet
      • Clear dish soap in toilet bowl. It's FILLS with bubbles when they use it!
      • Brown Surprise- smear chocolate pudding on the toilet seat and wait for your victim's horrified reaction!
      • For this prank, there needs to be a bathroom within hearing distance of your victim. Hide a large container of water inside the bathroom. Wait for a quiet moment when the victim is nearby, and then excuse yourself. Then very slowly pour the water into the toilet--make sure it takes as long as possible. The victim will be amazed!
  • Purple note
    • Hilarious quotes from my CPSE teacher. He is a hoot!
      • "Or don't do this test if they're stoned. Unless they share it with you. Then you can get high together."
      • "Want to know how to get away without writing "self correct"? These are secrets of the kingdom. Secrets of the priesthood. Wow, now you feel like you're deep in the mysteries."
      • "Emily sits over there looking intelligent but she doesn't talk so we don't know."
      • "Hannah, why don't you read for us over there in your time out booth."
      • "I'm going to pick on kids to embarrass them publicly. Good motivation."
      • "Oh, you want me to respond like a kid?" "No, I want you to respond as Alexis. This is a pre-engagement question I've been asked to ask you."
      • To be successful on the midterm please remember:
        • 1. Heavenly Father loves you
        • 2. Love is a many-splendored thing
        • 3. Frodo Baggins is imaginary
  • Blue note
    • Movies we need to watch:
      • Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging (super funny and ridiculous movie by the way)
      • Baby Mama
      • Easy A (not proud of this one)
      • Leap Year
      • Wild Child
  • Green note
    • Helps me keep track of how much tithing I need to pay. Hence, the green.
    • Also contains possible classes to take next semester currently including Personal Finance and ASL 111.
  • Other Blue note
    • Tells me what I need to do for a huge project that is due in a week. I'm only kind of freaking out.

No organization to that... Especially since I have a calendar with all my assignments written on it and a list of things I need to do on my phone AND a bunch of stuff that I occasionally remember that is not written down anywhere. From what I hear, life only gets crazier from here.

So I leave you with this little snippet of truth. Life is a climb, but the view is great (name that movie, anyone?). Don't just endure to the end; find joy in whatever long, hard, frustrating, confusing, amusing, wonderful, etc journey we are going through.

YOLO

Well, hello everyone! Welcome to my new blog. Since I am an adult now, I figured I should act like it, at least on the internet. Ergo, that means no posting about Nick Jonas, fluffy unicorns, or homemade volcanoes. Also, I haven't even seen the second half of Breaking Dawn yet. Is that maturity or what?!
Anyways, to go along with the title of my wonderful, new blog, here are a couple quotes that will change your life. They are just awesome.

So, if you ever see me doing something just plain silly, blame it on this quote: “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough” mixed with this quote: "Good memories come from bad ideas." I gotta live it right guys! Life is better when you are laughing.
Yo-freakin-LO.
My maturity level....
